As I was finishing up on my last wedding album of 2010 I came across a series of images with a story to them that I wanted to share. And since the full wedding posts will probably only show up on the blog next month, I thought: lets do a quickie!
It’s always easier with natural [...]

Wednesday September 22nd 2010, 6:30 pm Wedding Marleen & Bart Behind The Scenes , Strobist , Wedding

Last 2 weeks I’ve shot my last weddings of the season. And boy the weather gods didn’t go easy on me there. It was time to dust off that softbox and umbrella! Funny how I actually started photography with my first strobist steps, learned to love and switch to natural light , and [...]

Wednesday July 15th 2009, 1:22 pm Wentiti's Baby & Child Photography , Product photography , Strobist

It seems that @wenti found her creative outlet and to celebrate the unveiling of her new product line I got to turn the house upside down for some funky looking product shots. But of course it’s the mutskes that steal the show.
May I present to you : “pinnemuts”, “bloem”, “pompon” & “bij”.

Friday June 12th 2009, 12:12 pm Not your classic Rembrandt lighting Portraits , Strobist

This week I had a very fun evening session assisting Sofie on her salsa-school shoot. Who would have thought I’d ever set foot in a dance school …. Salsa is about rhythm, I knew the shot I wanted to make but I ran into a bit of a wall when I wanted to combine the [...]

Friday May 29th 2009, 11:32 am Communiefotos Baby & Child Photography , Communie , Strobist

The problem
On location work is fun, you always need to improvise. On location studio work is a tad more difficult, you need space to work. In this instance I was at my step-sister-in-law’s place, a place I know. We wanted to make some portraits against a black backdrop. so we had to move some furniture [...]

Thursday February 05th 2009, 3:07 pm Indoor Paintball Gent Strobist

Last week Tom asked me if I wanted to come along and take some pictures of the new indoor Paintball Gent location on the day before the inauguration (you never know if this term brings an extra visitor to the blog).
Although I did take a lot of gear with me I was totally under prepared [...]

Okay I’ll admit it. I’m abusing my blog to sell my 2 sigma lenses. But I am using that to share something with you as well, and it was a good excuse for me to play around with my new toys.

Business first, I’m selling my 24-70mm f2.8 EX and 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS, both lenses [...]

Friday December 12th 2008, 2:43 pm Panic mode on Strobist

We had a little crisis situation this week where we thought we accidentally left a cat inside the (running) washing machine. When I finally managed to get the door open, the cat came looking what all the fuzz was about…
Reverse engineering has never been this easy …

Newborns are always fun to shoot. Love how she curled her feet every time

I hope mom didn’t think I was nuts using a while paper roll gaffered to the hospital-bedroom wall and for using my home-made flower pot softbox… For this shot I did switch to a more professional looking 9$ shoot [...]

Friday September 12th 2008, 10:15 am Slam dunk, and that's a wrap. Strobist

While we were cleaning up our gear (a beer in hand) some of the guys started dunking.
I quickly set up 2 snooted SB600’s on 1/2 power left & right. We didn’t get that many good shots, this is the only one that I like.

So where did we leave off ?
Right, 22:07PM, portraits done, time for some team shots.
The A-Team finished their friendly match (I never did check if they won or lost, shame on me) and some of the guys from the B-Team needed to go home because they had exams the next day. So again , not [...]

A while ago back I did the second session for the FillesFolles girls. While we had cool locations indoor something else caught my attention outside. The garage was made of these glass square tiles and would make for a great backdrop.
The sun was out hard that day so to avoid racoon eyes I need some [...]
